Role Summary/Purpose
The governance analyst will report to the Vice President, Chief Corporate, Securities & Finance Counsel and General Counsel Business Innovations. The analyst will be part of the core group of legal professionals responsible for GE's corporate governance, SEC compliance, corporate finance transactions as well as oversight for Business Innovations, including GE Ventures, GE Lighting and Current.
Essential Responsibilities
· Provide financial planning, analysis and reporting support to the Corporate Securities team for key cycles, processes and initiatives. Assist in identifying process improvements and acts as financial resource for team.
· Support specific responsibilities of the group which include the GE Proxy Statement, the 10-K/Q, the 10-K Summary, the Integrated Summary Report, the Annual Meeting, GE & GE Capital Board & Committee meetings, the governance outreach to GE Investors, and SEC compliance, including insider trading.
· Support the groups expanded mandate through strong financial and non-financial analyses, presentations as well as liaising with the finance organization to ensure seamless cooperation between the group and one of its principal clients
· Identify and articulate risks and opportunities relevant to team projects and processes.
· Prepare financial projections for key planning sessions and operating plans
· Prepare critical analyses important to key governance, compliance and corporate finance initiatives
· Participate on cross-functional process improvement teams to promote operational inefficiencies.
· Help implement financial modeling improvements in planning and forecasting to enhance process efficiency, support new initiatives, and to accurately capture the changing business economics and structure.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics
· Master's degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
· Financial Management Program (FMP) grad or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) grad.
· Team player

· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
· Minimum 3 years of finance experience.
· Financial modeling skills.
· Proficient use of financial systems and analysis tools including Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
