Role Summary/Purpose

Critical business role working with high value generators for internal/external clients across the UK/Europe. This technical team works closely with many key stakeholders to manage a crucial product area for the Power business.

This role can be based anywhere across the UK, expectation is that there will be a high percentage of travel across UK and Europe
Essential Responsibilities

·  Execute inspections on customer site

·  Visual inspection of Generator components, Exciter and auxiliary equipment

·  Operate robotic inspection equipment

·  Electrical testing (DC and AC) and non-destructive mechanical testing on Generator main components, Exciter and auxiliary equipment

·  Interpretation of test results to determine maintenance requirements

·  Acquisition and evaluation of generator health monitoring data

·  Fact finding in case of generator equipment failure

·  Derive maintenance work orders based on inspection results

·  Develop and produce formal customer reports containing recommendations, computer generated graphics, plots, tables, summaries and comparisons. Maintain & archive electronic and hard copy inspection data and reports

·  Identify and execute improvement projects in the field of Generator test and inspect

·  Effectively communicate with resource manager, Field Engineers, Product Service Engineering and Customers during all phases of the inspection cycle (pre-job, test execution, post job meetings)

Qualifications/Requirements

·  BS in electrical or mechanical engineering and /or equivalent experience

·  Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·  Ability to interpret, write & assemble technical documents, drawings, and reports

·  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·  Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule assignments

·  Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision

Desired Characteristics

·  This position requires an individual with excellent communication (written and oral), planning and technical skills and ability to work independently

·  Experience using digital data acquisition systems and analysis software tools

·  Power generation industry experience in the field of generator inspection and testing

·  Experience in HV electrical testing

·  Experience working in a customer field service organization

·  This position requires overtime/weekend/off-hours and very frequent domestic and international travelling
