Sourcing / Supply Chain
At GE Aerospace, our Sourcing and Supply Chain teams are a critical part of inventing the future of flight. Dedicated to finding the supplies and tools for our manufacturing and business processes. These teams work with a variety of supplier partners researching the best rates and negotiating contracts to support every step in our supply chain process.
Roles and Responsibilities
In the 12-month Logistics & Supply Chain Management Placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of procurement, sourcing, logistics, supplier delivery and supply chain management. You could be liaising with suppliers, engaging in order management, assisting with tender proposals and reviews, customer negotiations, cost and inventory reduction activities or logistics support.
On some roles you could liaise with operations management, shift leads, Facilities leads, production scheduler to ensure that planned maintenance activities are incorporated into the production schedule. Provide guidance for intrusive planned Facilities work so that it coincides with equipment availability or provide a lean support to the business by working with lean team to drive lean strategy & priorities.
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.
This opportunity is offered in our Cheltenham, Gloucester (Dowty) and Prestwick (Scotland) sites, we will ask you to share your location preferences during the application process.
Qualifications / Requirements
Currently studying or recently achieved a Business/ Supply Chain Management / Mechanical Engineering/ Project Management/ Facility Management/ Planning related bachelors or master’s degree
Keen interest in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
On course or achieved a 2:1 degree
Desired Characteristics
Able to roll up your sleeves and get involved in projects
Organised & able to work towards deadlines
Inspired and curious to learn
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to take ownership for projects
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
