Role Summary/Purpose
The Power Services (PS) Gas Turbine (GT) Mechanical Training Instructor will be responsible for delivery of training curriculum for Gas Turbine mechanical courses, serving FieldCore Field Engineering (FE), Customer, and Onsite Services (OSS) clientele. The PGS Product Training Delivery Team is chartered with delivery of state-of-the-art employee technical training courses providing safe, high quality, capable field service representatives for the PGS business to apply across the cycle.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Gas Turbine Mechanical Training Instructor, you will:
· Conduct training sessions using approved training materials, and be directly involved with revisions to training materials
· Be responsible for delivery of both entry level and advanced technical training courses on GE Gas turbines mechanical equipment for FE, customer, and OSS training candidates
· Manage, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Gas lab equipment for PGS Training Equipment located at the Houston Learning Center
· Work closely with Gas Turbine Design and Product Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), Repair Technology Center of Excellence (RTCoE) teams to deliver current, cutting edge technology training to meet fulfillment needs
· Act as the primary GT subject matter expert (SME) and liaison between Training Delivery Team and Design & Development Team in the creation and modification of training content for new and existing technology
· Integrate Field Engineering e-tools, reporting, digitization, service notice and other business processes into the gas turbine programs
· Input on course scheduling & logistics per strategic business requests
· Documentation & record keeping (leverage technical reference materials where appropriate in training session, update course material and conduct student performance evaluations)
· Train class attendees with state-of-the-art content in the safest, most efficient manner
· Own / drive course content improvement, delivering on specific session CTQ's
· Financial control of training expenses
· Leverage business subject matter experts as extended training team members
· Focus on safe, high Quality training with the ultimate deliverable being a high quality, capable, field PGS Field Representative to apply to customer maintenance and/or installation needs
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences from an accredited university or college (OR a minimum of 20 years of equivalent professional work experience related to Gas Turbine power generation, installation and maintenance)
· Minimum of 7 years of field experience with Gas Turbine equipment installation, operation, and maintenance ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Fluent in English language (i.e., Ability to speak, read and write in English)
Desired Characteristics
· Adult technical teaching course delivery or equivalent training experience
· Desire to instruct
· Recent maintenance and repair experience on GE Gas Turbine and Auxiliary equipment
· Recent Gas Turbine installation experience
· Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix and global environment
· Flexible and willing to learn and teach new technologies
· Strong attention to detail, disciplined and organized
· GT Field Engineering Program (FEP), (Entry Level Training) or Direct Hire (DH) Graduate or equivalent
· Gas Turbine Start-up Program graduate or equivalent experience
· Subject matter expert level Gas Turbine product knowledge
· Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and be a team player
· Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
· Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
· Six Sigma Green Belt certified or equivalent certification
