Role Summary/Purpose

• The position is responsible for performing all of the operations necessary for the disassembly, assembly, inspection, testing, and final return to service of engines, components and accessories in accordance with the manual or approved technical data.
• Ensure all airworthiness requirements are performed and documented in accordance with all applicable regulations in regards to maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of aircraft engines and components.
Essential Responsibilities

• Possess the ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Possess the ability to operate and understand precision measuring equipment.
• Possess the ability to problem solve.
• Interpret and understand engine manuals.
• Interpret and understand quality manuals.
• Inventory engine and record Part Numbers and Serial Numbers of Accessories and QEC.
• Inspect engine to identify and document damage and discrepancies.
• Borescope engine to identify damage or defects, including borescope measurement of defects to determine airworthiness.
• Disassembly and assembly of engines, to include repair of modules, components and accessories.
• Perform examinations of hardware to ensure serviceability prior to installation on an engine.
• Transport assemblies, hardware, tooling and other material in support of assigned areas.
• Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures within the limitations of relevant technical procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance performed is in accordance the manual, technical specifications or other approved data.
• Maintain an engine records package during the maintenance process, including a complete review of the package at engine shipment for completeness and accuracy.
• Completion of required FAA forms during engine repair and testing.
• Use of precision measuring instruments, devices, hand and power tools, shop equipment and machinery as assigned.
• Loading and unloading of engines on trucks.
• Perform housekeeping responsibilities to prevent FOD throughout the repair station.
• Forklift operation.
• Overhead hoist operation.
• Facilities Maintenance.

Qualifications/Requirements

- FAA Power Plant Mechanic Certification or minimum of two years aircraft engine (gas turbine maintenance experience with another company or branch of military service.

- High School diploma or GED
Desired Characteristics

- 2 years of experience as Engine Test Cell or Flight Line Mechanic.
- Or 2 years of experience working as an engine maintenance mechanic.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools and willing to accept assignments to any shift.
