Job Description Summary

We are looking for a Field Engineer specialized in High Voltage / Gas-Insulated Switchgear Equipment to support the installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems.
The role is highly field-oriented and requires strong technical expertise in electrical systems, with the ability to work closely with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Perform electrical commissioning activities on industrial installations.
·  Execute inspections, testing, troubleshooting and functional validation of electrical equipment.
·  Support energization, start-up and performance testing activities.
·  Analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions during commissioning phases.
·  Perform electrical measurements, fault finding and diagnostics.
·  Review technical documentation, drawings, test procedures and commissioning reports.
·  Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
·  Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality requirements.

 

Required Qualifications

·  Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
·  Experience in electrical substations, maintenance or industrial field service.
·  Good knowledge of electrical systems: HV distribution, protection systems, transformers, switchgear or industrial equipment.
·  Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
·  Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
·  Strong safety awareness and experience working in industrial environments.
·  Ability to work independently on site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

 

Nice to have

·  Experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) equipment.
·  Experience with power plants, industrial projects, renewable energy, oil & gas or heavy industry.
·  Knowledge of commissioning standards and testing procedures.
·  Experience with international projects.

 

Languages

·  English required.
·  French and/or Dutch are an advantage.
