Job Description Summary

The Operations Leader-Facilities Maintenance will provide daily leadership and direction for facilities maintenance operations supporting the entire GE Schenectady site. You will be expected to make critical decisions in a timely manner while demonstrating leadership in communicating goals, project progress, and repair updates critical to production timelines. In this role, you will utilize your experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

·  Direct the work activities of hourly GE trades people in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all site facilities & production building infrastructure and components such as, electrical systems, machine tools, carpentry, millwright, steel work, plumbing systems, HVAC, vehicle equipment, etc.
·  Support production needs & requests as required for fulfillment.
·  Perform administrative duties in a timely manner including time and attendance, workforce training requirements, safety meetings, self audits, Injury & Illness reporting, work order and safety work order backlog control, and overtime management, including Highway use tax and CDL driver reporting requirements.
·  Schedule and validate all preventive maintenance by using the Maximo maintenance and work order system.
·  Develop project specific scopes of work, cost estimates, schedule, and manage large and small facilities maintenance and repair projects with both GE trades and contractors.
·  Coordinate all site snow removal efforts between in-house and contractor teams.
·  Technical Authority – site crane expert. Deep knowledge and understanding in crane operation, mechanics, and rigging operations. Ability to identify and resolve crane related hazard.
·  Develop and approve lift plans, provide training oversight- content & conduct level 1 training.
·  Resolve crane issues/concerns
·  Consult on lift permits for new, complex, and engineered lifts.
·  Guide Mechanical Lifting Advisory Panel.

Minimum Qualifications:

·  2-year college degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology or similar applicable field.
·  Maintenance or facilities trades supervisory experience.
·  Working knowledge of structural steel fabrication, plumbing, and electrical systems
·  Computer Skills—proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs

Preferred Qualifications:

·  4-year BS college degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology.
·  Have a minimum of three years electrical maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
·  Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
·  Have a sound working knowledge of Maximo work order system, GE purchasing systems, GE Accounts Payable system (AP), and strong IT resolution.

The base pay range for this position is  $90,400.00 - 150,500.00 USD Annual.   The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
