Roles and Responsibilities

The Embedded Software Engineer – will collaborate with the Engines Embedded Software Team in the Controls Systems Organization, the main responsibilities in this position are:

•Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards for Critical Software.                                                                                                                                                    
•Solve technical problems with limited information and high complexity.
•Provide timely communication regarding project roadblocks, issues, results, and developments.
•Present results in technical forums and report-out to upper management forums.
•Project management: task-oriented, scheduling and planning.
•Own-work check.
•Propose innovative design and development ideas.
•Proactive attitude: look for answers and support from various stakeholders and experts.

Required Qualifications:

•Career completion in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics or related fields.

•Good written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. Must be able to understand and communicate technical ideas in different engineering levels.
•Good programming skills in ANSI C/C++, Perl, Python or any other relevant scripting language.
•Presentation Skills: ability to communicate across functions.
•Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
•Self-driven, with proven analytical and organizational abilities.

Desired Characteristics
•Familiarity with Lean/Flight Deck
•Familiarity with Project Management principles
•Knowledge of Python and/or Perl programming languages
•Familiarity with simulation models (e.g. jet-engine machine cycle) and Testing methodologies.
•Familiarity with configuration management principles and tools such as IBM DOORS, Change & Synergy.
•Eager to learn and be taught.
