Job Description Summary

The Combustion Aero Design Engineer will be a member of the Combustion Design module. This engineer will join the team responsible for and will have ownership of the Aero design of advanced gas turbine combustion system. This role will work in a team environment to apply design for new configurations or to improve hardware configurations to meet all operability, emissions, cost, and durability requirements. In addition, the aero engineer will work with the team to lead laboratory test to validate the designs, and/or to lead the field tests and commissioning testing. If needed, this engineer will work with cross function teams including Product Service to support the field issue root cause analysis and resolutions

Job Description

What you’ll do

·  Applying combustion/ gas turbine fundamentals, Tools & Processes to the design & development of gas turbine combustion system with low emissions and wide operation window.
·  Demonstrate mindset of ownership and accountability to achieve goals.
·  Support combustion laboratory & engine tests to validate design
·  Perform pre and post combustion laboratory / engine test data analysis to find valuable insights which can be used to draw key conclusions.  Suggest and execute ideas to improve the combustion system design.
·  Work effectively within cross-functional – Mechanical, CFD & Aero teams for project execution.
·  Take an active role in the continuous improvement of processes and data analysis techniques.
·  Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews
·  Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to bring in newer design methods to the group
·  Have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

·  BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Science with emphasis and projects on combustion & combustion modeling.

·  Strong interpersonal and team skills
·  Strong understanding of combustion, emissions and gas turbine technology
·  Demonstrated ability to use CFD models (1D-3D) to understand combustor behavior

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 71,600.00 - 107,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus . The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. This position will stay open on the career website until at least September 26th, 2025
