Role Summary/Purpose
The ACARS / CEOD / Supplier Management group is responsible for design, verification, and testing of embedded software used for Aircraft Communications, Continuous Engine Operation Data and management of suppliers providing low level software for embedded controller operation.
The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and testing embedded software to create products and services tailored to the needs of the GE businesses and external customers.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will :
· Execute and provide guidance for the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
· Interface with internal, external, global groups, suppliers and / or customers to identify and resolve system integration issues
· Participate in technical reviews
· Document and communicate results of technical data generated
· Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
· Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
· Integrate as a member of a global development team
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics
· Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
· Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering degrees are preferred
· Working knowledge of C, assembly, aircraft communications (ARINC 664, ARINC 429, MIL 1553, etc.) and Operating Systems standards (ARINC 653)
· Familiarity with the following tools: DOORs, SCADE, IBM Change / Synergy, DXL Scripting
· Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
· Experience in logic design and coding of embedded systems
· Ability to document, plan, and execute programs
· Ability to manage contract engineering resources to ensure that certification deliverables support project timelines
· Experience with certification requirements and processes for commercial embedded systems
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
