The EHS Manager reports to the Service Center manager and is responsible for the implementation and management of GE Vernova EHS programs for the facility. Role is dotted line to the functional leader, Gas Power Generator Value Stream EHS Leader

Job Description

What you’ll do    
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed regulations    
• Implement GE Vernova EHS programs in compliance with applicable laws & regulations    
• Conduct required activities to maintain permits and file reapplications necessary to meet business needs    
• Perform audits and collaborate with management teams to implement CAPA's    
• Provide EHS leadership to site staff, employees and EHS committees    
• Drive EHS compliance through audits and proactive risk elimination    
• Implement GE Vernova initiatives and values including IPP Heat Maps, HRP Program submissions etc.    
• Plan and conduct EHS training for employees contractors and visitors    
• Lead Compliance Assurance program at site    
• Work in partnership with the Bucharest Leadership team to maintain EHS high on the leadership agenda in line with SQDC focus.    
• Provide EHS Leadership to deploy and coach EHS talent to fully support programs and ensure compliance with GE Vernova and regulatory standards.    
• Create Bucharest EHS Lean Roadmap, operationalize action plan, and problem solve Bucharest bowler as needed    
• Implement effective Management of Change process.     
• Ensure EHS compliance and identify, prevent and resolve potential EHS issues. Provide timely information to the site management in relation to any trends through periodical analysis.    
• Ensure effective implementation of the site risk management program    
• Coach employees to ensure Safe Start and encourage open reporting culture.    
• Mitigate against EHS liabilities associated with current and former operations and facilities under the scope.    
•Break down silos and barriers and cross borders to collaborate and win as one team.    
• Support Gas Power EHS colleagues with EHS auditing, kaizens, procedure development and implementation, and standard work/program development and execution.    
    
What will make you stand out    
• Demonstrate strong leadership as a member of site management team    
• Maintain Contractor and Vendor EHS approval including insurance certifications and qualification to perform work    
• Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective & preventive action plans    
• Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to Operations teams    
• Coordinate EHS efforts among external GE and non-GE contractors who come to site    
• Compile periodic reports to HQ, work cooperatively with EHS HQ on various projects and initiatives    
• Understanding of the challenges with implementation of EHS requirements in a manufacturing organization    
• Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and lead teams, drive change and interact cross-functionally    
• Experience working in a global environment and in a matrix reporting organization, influencing and motivating diverse teams to achieve a unified goal    
• Working knowledge of web based EHS Data Reporting Systems (i.e. Gensuite)    
• Process oriented and methodical; prior experience building action plans and problem solving    
    
Required Competencies    
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university    
• Significant EHS experience in industry or manufacturing    
• Ability and willingness to travel, as required    
• Ability and willingness to perform essential physical requirements in order to maintain compliance with regulations and business expectations    
• Advanced computer skills, primarily with MS Office software programs, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and able to navigate internet and intranet tools    
    
Desired Competencies    
• Experience with regulatory agency interaction    
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, RCRA, CAA, NPDES, TSCA, CWA, NERC and DOT regulations    
• Experience in Compliance Assurance; i.e. ISO9000, ISO14001, etc.    
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Health and Safety or related technical degree from an accredited 3rd level institution    
• Experience managing Title V Permits, NPDES permits, SWPP and SPCC plans, Hazardous Waste, and other environmental programs    
• Experience generating regulatory required reports such as EDRs, Air Emission Inventories, DMRs, Biennial Reports, etc.
