Role Summary/Purpose

The internship is based at the GE Monitoring and Diagnostics site in Lisburn and is an excellent work experience opportunity for an enthusiastic student who is interested in the application of their University studies in industry. The successful applicant will work with a small team to help develop the best methods to harden and test our products against all aspects of cyber security threats. Training and further skills development will be provided ‘on the job’.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Learn & understand the operation of GE products

·  Gain an understanding of Cyber Security Standards (such as IEC62443/NERC-CIP/IEC62351) and how to apply them to industrial products

·  Work as part of the Cyber Security team on firmware based products

·  Develop means to counteract the diverse range of cyber security threats

·  Conduct cyber security software testing to meet agreed development plans

·  Document and present results to management and the wider engineering team
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Completed at least 2 years in a STEM based degree which included Software development and/or testing. (Applications are encouraged from Software or Cyber Security based degrees).

·  A strong technical background & interest/experience in hands-on software testing work.

·  The ability to work within a team, or under own initiative

·  The ability to understand and present new concepts clearly and effectively (including use of appropriate computer programs) .

·  Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
