Role Summary/Purpose

The Global Logistics Customs Analyst – MENAT will ensure adherence to all international export laws and regulations as it relates to the importation and exportation of goods and technology. This position will provide support for the execution of daily import / export operations in the region, including trouble-shooting and root cause analysis for any issues impacting the efficient movement of goods across international orders.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Customs Analyst MENAT, you will:

·  Resolve daily inquiries regarding export shipments and inbound import “green-light” approval. Help to prepare export & import documentation when necessary

·  Work closely with manufacturing and services locations to develop, train & deploy the origin logistics model - ensuring all export & import requirements are accurately documented before equipment ships from the seller’s dock

·  Work closely with manufacturing and service locations to assign country-of-origin designations for items so that BHGE is compliant and can take advantage of preferential trade agreements when applicable

·  Support the region (internal locations & external suppliers) with completing standard requirements for shipment documentation, both import & export. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data with customs brokers

·  Work closely with the global product classification team as it relates to the request & receipt Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes, Schedule B codes, ECCN or other codes & schedules

·  Perform document retention within the region to support compliance with government agencies and international trade regulations. When necessary, assist legal counsel, logistics and sales

·  Perform analysis, as needed, for global and regional trade analytics and reporting

·  When necessary, file export declarations on behalf of BHGE in the required systems

·  Monitor and track critical shipments and resolve problems when necessary

·  Resolve transactional issues relating to the clearance of shipped goods by working daily with brokers and other related logistics providers
Act as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers and vendor queries
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in international trade, international business, logistics or other related fields from an accredited college or university
Desired Characteristics

·  Membership in professional organizations, trade or user groups, and a pattern of regular attendance at industry conferences to enhance knowledge of trade compliance is preferred

·  Accredited zone specialist is preferred

·  A customs broker’s license is preferred
