Job Description Summary
The Container fulfillment and Project specialist is a key role to manage the fulfillment and inventory of engine containers to facilitate shipping of Aviation gas turbines to the Aero JV and end customers. The role owns/manages various processes for new engines including purchase orders and inventory/shipping/billing processes. The role incorporates managing additional projects to support the improvement of the supply chain function.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
Container Fulfillment
· Forecast, plan and procure containers to support Aviation new engine production schedule and customer forecasted needs, 150+ containers annually (~$6M). Utilize GE systems (iProcurement, Oracle Foxtrot, Perceptive, Finance workflows, etc.) to issue and maintain purchase orders to suppliers; receive invoices from suppliers and route for payment; add/liquidate inventory to appropriate channels/finance accounts.
· Be responsible for location, logistics, and tracking of GE owned engine containers including timely completion of the Annual Container Physical Inventory – working closely with the Aero JV, Finance, & GE sites.
· Manage new engine shipping documentation and processes including certification; plus manage CTSI freight payments to Agility/JRC.
· Resolve all customs & logistics issues in a timely fashion escalating where appropriate for immediate resolution
· Interface with Engineering to identify improvements to existing designs and new requirements
· Develop and implement an accurate and up to date tracking process for all inbound / outbound containers and locations.
· Manage balance of new vs refurbished for lowest cost.
· Work with new engine fulfillment team to manage POs from channels and to create/manage POs from JV to Aviation including changes and amendments.
· Own and manage inventory transactions for new engines including sales orders and working with finance on timely/accurate billing.
Project lead
· Ability to work on small to medium improvement projects. Issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
· Contributes to the understanding, data collection, analyzing, decision making, measurement and successful closure of a variety of project constraints and opportunities.
· Ability to manipulate and work with data through ERP systems.
· Pro-active analyzing of data using statistical techniques, gathering data from primary and secondary sources, identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree
· 2-4 years materials management and/or shop operations experience
· Oracle ERP user background
· Prior Materials Management, Production Control or Sourcing experience
