Role Summary/Purpose
The CMS Engineer will play a critical role in GE’s Digital Wind Farm initiative that will transform the Wind Industry and create a mechanism to unite machines, data and people. This role will contribute to the evaluation of wind turbine data in CMS and PulsePOINT advanced monitoring and diagnostic system. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful monitoring and evaluation of CMS data, and ensure that all anomalies are addressed internally and externally.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
· Monitor and analyze data from the CMS system and make corrective action recommendation to site teams and customers
· Work with diagnostic technicians to evaluate new signals and recommend changes and improvements to CMS algorithms
· Assist Fleet Availability and Reliability Engineering teams in determining additional diagnostic detection capabilities to reduce turbine downtime, prevent component failures, and increase turbine performance
· Propose and develop new instrumentation and diagnostic technologies which will differentiate the GE Monitoring and Diagnostic capabilities from other offerings, providing higher customer satisfaction and value
· Manage site contact lists
· Send customer email alerts on newly identified anomalies
· Schedule customer meetings quarterly or on as-needed basis
· Review open & closed vibration anomalies with customer and site lead
· Be point of contact for customer questions / concerns regarding vibration anomalies / issues
· Lead Americas Customer meetings / communications
· Identify opportunities for set point changes; set point change tracking
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR an Associate's Degree with CMS wind turbine experience, OR wind turbine experience)
Eligibility Requirements:
· Legal authorization to work in the US is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
