Roles and responsibilities

·  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC machines (e.g., vertical and horizontal machining centers, lathes, mills) using CAD/CAM software 
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, 3D models, and technical specifications to create accurate CNC programs that align with production requirements.
• Provide guidance to CNC technicians in setting up CNC machines and tooling, ensuring that programs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
• Assist in machine calibration, tool selection, and verification of machine settings to ensure accuracy and repeatability in production.
• Troubleshoot CNC programming or machining issues on the shop floor and make necessary adjustments to programs or machine settings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and cycle time reductions through analysis of machine performance and program efficiency.
• Work closely with Process Engineers and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new parts into production.
• Collaborate with the Quality Engineering team to ensure that parts meet specifications and quality standards, adjusting programs as necessary.
• Review and validate CNC programs before production to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records of CNC programs, tool settings, and process parameters for future reference and traceability.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC technology, programming software, and manufacturing trends, sharing knowledge with the team.
 

Required qualifications

·  5 years experience with CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, and other engineering tools
Virtual machine environment simulation
3-5 years experience working with Mill Turn and 5 axis machines
2 years experience in aerospace industry
·  English advanced

Desired characteristics

·  CAD/CAM Software (Siemens NX is a plus)
·  Sinumerik 840D controller
·  CSE (Virtual machine environment for simulation)
