Role Summary/Purpose
This role distinguishes itself through MR research collaboration and emphasis on new product application development, including MR pulse sequences and image reconstruction. You will work in close collaboration with the global and European GE Healthcare Technologies team, and the MR Research Team at the Neuroradiology department at Karolinska University Hospital. You will also develop, test, and evaluate new clinical imaging applications. The role will be based at Karolinska University Hospital.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
· Combining knowledge of physics/biology or software/system engineering or computer science (depends on area of specialty) to develop and deliver new MR application prototypes as well as products.
· Work with and support Karolinska University Hospital in a strong research collaboration environment.
· Evaluate and extend new concepts by advising colleagues in Product Marketing and Applications on new technical and clinical developments providing innovations which can be developed into new product advantages.
· Assist in writing commercial and technical documents.
· Contribute to IP, patent disclosures and white papers.
· Participate in customer presentations and scanner demonstrations during commercial visits.
· Leverage broad expertise to help resolve urgent issues with current products.
· Play a role in research projects at Karolinska University Hospital with the possibility of authoring as well as co-authoring publications.
· Lead in area of expertise to move projects forward.
Desired profile
Qualifications/Requirements
· Masters degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
· Strong relevant work experience.
· Programming skills, preferably C, C++ and MATLAB.
· Strong English language oral and written communication skills.
· EU Work Permit.
Desired Characteristics
· PhD Degree in Physics, Chemistry Biomedical Engineering or related field.
· Demonstrated record of innovation in development.
· MR pulse programming experience, preferably EPIC.
· Experience with research collaborations.
· Experience preparing research proposals and technical documents.
· Experience on acquisition, reconstruction and medical image analysis, particularly in Magnetic Resonance.
· Experience in a clinical environment (e.g. radiology or cardiology department).
· Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.
· Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrix, team and customer focused environment.
· Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives.
· Swedish language oral and written communication skills.
