Role Summary/Purpose

To design, develop, test, implement and maintain signal processing and communications software (or improve existing signal processing and communications software) for medical devices to meet the specifications provided. An important aspect of the role is assisting in the generation of product specifications and validation documentation of the finished product.
Essential Responsibilities

 To work with colleagues and clients to develop leading-edge signal processing software and code for medical devices. The software will on an embedded platform, used in real time applications.
 Review and understand newly published papers on FHR, MHR and UA measurements to define suitable solutions for Monica Healthcare Ltd.
 Assist with the generation of technical specifications that define software performance for Fetal Heart Rate, Maternal Heart Rate and Uterine Activity, FHR gaps, False Accelerations/Decelerations and FHR/MHR swapping.
 Design, develop and test complex signal processing software code and algorithms to monitor FHR, MHR and UA signals using latest published methodologies or innovate new methodologies.
 Review and improve the performance of existing complex signal processing algorithms used in current products.
 Test and evaluate new and existing software. Generate formal written reports using Monica Healthcare documentation control procedures (examples are Verification and Validation reports, performance reports, user manuals etc).
 Ensure all software designs and communications protocols are compatible with current user interfaces, or design new user interfaces as applicable.
 Confidently representing your specialism as part of a multidisciplinary team, both internally and externally. Provide support and training to colleagues and customers as needed.
 Embrace new technologies quickly and create innovative approaches, products and ideas.
 To dress and act in a professional manner at all times as per Company Policy.
 To comply with safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies.
 To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with grade and experience.
Qualifications/Requirements

Proven years of practical experience in biomedical signal processing at First Degree level (this can include a Master’s degree), or a PhD completed in Signal Processing, or equivalent knowledge and experience with some years of experience with biomedical signals such as ECG and EEG. •Experience with MATLAB and/or C/C+, basic knowledge of statistics, and experience in coding on embedded platforms are highly desirable.
