Role Summary/Purpose

The Asset Liability Management team of Treasury is specifically responsible for managing the interest rate risk and foreign exchange (FX) exposures for GE worldwide including the FX exposures resulting from the Treasury activities for its principal financial services subsidiary, General Electric Capital Corporation (GECC). GECC manages interest rate risk in a centralized model for GECC’s global balance sheet exposures.
Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in quantifying, hedging and reporting GE Capital FX exposure (translation and remeasurement)
• Assist in updating fx model for monthly balance sheet, tax rate changes, material transactions, etc
• Assist in modeling transactions and scenario planning to understand fx exposure impact
• Daily interaction with controllership, tax, & market risk to understand transactions, related accounting implications and after-tax impact
• Interact with businesses to review transactions, fx exposure and recommend hedging action
• Update and disseminate industrial fx strategy file - spot rates, forecasts, strategies, order levels
• Back-up support to GE Company & GE Capital commercial paper and corporate investment desks as required
• Input required trades in MyTRS including spot, forward, NDF, swaps
• Manage maturing trade reporting - rolls/closeouts
• Manage MyTRS approval protocols / routing rules
• Coordinated with GEFM on execution
• Provide FX remeasurement and translation exposure reporting
• Engage with market risk on exposure details/variance analysis/limit compliance
• IEM (Industrial Exposure Management) – system testing/planning/go forward process
• MyExposure (FX) UAT testing support to enable “go live” pilot
• MyExposure (Commodity) planning/testing
• Develop industrial commodity exposure collection infrastructure/process
• Consolidate and report total GE exposure for commodities
• Provide ad-hoc analytical support to ALM team.
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, math, economics or engineering (OR High school diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of experience) and minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services or banking institution
Desired Characteristics

• Asset Liability Management (ALM) experience
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills
• Familiarity with derivatives and hedge accounting as it pertains to foreign currency translation, re measurement, and synthetic funding/liabilities.
• Experience working in a global team environment.
• Direct experience in an asset/liability management function within a bank or major financial institution.
• Ability to convey analytical needs and/or results to partners and stakeholders with limited subject matter expertise.
• Experience in regulatory and management reporting systems.
• Familiarity with FX or IR derivatives
