Role Summary/Purpose

Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the Panel Builder (PB) Sales managers and the Panel Builders. They are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
Essential Responsibilities

Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product & technology as the product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process as well as a competitive offering. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Primary Responsibility
• Provide design optimization solutions to panel builders
• Ensure panel builder developed technical solutions for end-customers are optimal and competitive
• Maximize GE scope in panel builder offers
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application expertise
• Provide design and specification development support to consultants and panel builders, selectively/surgically and in a disciplined manner to neutralize specifications that disadvantage/exclude GE technology or PB
• Assist Specification Engineer efforts to prescribe/specify GE and PB on approved vendor list
• Respond to functional and technical elements of Request For Interest (RFIs), Request For Price (RFPs) and Request For Quote (RFQs)
• Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
• Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with our mission, values, and financial objectives
• Maintain strong professional business relationships with panel builders
• Help Sales Manager close orders

Essential Responsibilities
• Supports panel builder sales/account managers as well as panel builder partner with technical know-how during ITO stage. In conjunction with the sales team drives for orders growth
• Designs and presents packaged solutions based on IS offering that allow partners to compete effectively and profitably
• Effectively applies tools, processes, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, competitive practices, performance, price and market position to provide value-added support to commercial teams and partners
• Supports Partner in preparing and presenting detailed technical proposals, including product demonstrations and product prototypes
• Reviews/analyzes and offers solutions to continuously improve partners’ design/manufacturing costs and increase profitability
• Interacts with region based PMM and Comm. Ops functions and Bus Coordinates with all IS product lines stakeholders to enable proper understanding of specific market needs via specifications, performance
Qualifications/Requirements

To be successful in this role, you would possess and/or demonstrate the following:

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from local or internationally recognised university.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in designing and implementing Power & Control Packaged solutions including but not limited to MV, LV, Protection, Power Quality, Automation, and Communication
• A strong business acumen to develop and implement strategy panel builder business and resource allocation
