Role Summary/Purpose

An AME Technician performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development and manufacturing. Leads projects or teams. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: fabrication and assembly of fixtures and equipment, set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, lead compliance and quality activities and train other team members.
Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
• Test production assemblies and sub-assemblies for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications
• Interfaces with other departments in the execution of duties to ensure the orderly flow of materials and information
• Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct, evaluate and improve complex engineering models using conceptual descriptions and ideas
• Anticipate troubleshooting needs and perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution
• Recommend, instruct, design and conduct diagnostic tests to develop conclusions and solutions
• Lead technician teams in developing software and hardware evaluations, to implement plans using knowledge of the product, system operation, intermodule interactions, complex engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required
• May provide leadership and daily supervision to all technicians within the assigned department, including the evaluation of performance and management of work plans
• Work with the management team to lead and deploy training plans as needed
• Take ownership for business objectives including, delivery, EHS, productivity, materials, costs, output, cycle time, and quality
• Use six sigma tools to lead teams and to improve established processes and metrics
• Provide technical assistance by phone or in person to customer, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed
• Little or no direction is given in execution of job related activities
• Comply with EHS regulations and policies

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Training: Aware of and comply with GEHC training requirements
5. Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to it’s specification.
6. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Associates degree or High School Diploma and 9 years experience
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a technician role
3. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team of technicians, including delivery of performance feedback and the management of work plans
4. Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot up to a system level using identifiable problem-solving techniques and previous experience
5. Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process
6. Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information
