Job Description Summary

The EHS Specialist together with the Environmental Health and Safety HQ will plan, direct, and implement environmental health and safety programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. The person will be responsible for the compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory agencies. This position would also respond to emergency situations when they arise and will support EHS operations and employees to foster a safety culture and ensure compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.
  • Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of EHS related issues. Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal & state laws.
  • Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process.
  • Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.
  • Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented.
  • Responsibility to completing and documenting all regulatory compliance activities through the EHS Calendar according to regulatory deadlines
  • Conducting EHS training as needed, including new employee and contractor orientation;
  • Participate/leading to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events. Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, etc.
  • Monitor and updating Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Representing the company with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, DO​

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS management, preferbly within the aerospace or manufacturing industry

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in utilizing EHS management tools and systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact proactively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Certification in EHS (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
