Role Summary/Purpose
The Advanced Technology Lead Buyer will manage the buying process for a given set of goods (engine parts, materials, processes). You will interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. This role requires a strong foundation of sourcing skills, and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts / strategies.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, as the Advanced Technology Lead Buyer, you will:
· Place and follow-up on purchase orders
· Manage relationships with suppliers for purchase order execution
· Manage problems and schedule changes
· Update ERP
· Develop new sourcing and procurement solutions
· Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
· Understand and apply Total Cost mindset when driving commercial actions within sourcing
· Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge
· Actively participate in supplier performance reviews
· Advise Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures within their own field
· Work cross-functionally to drive cost, delivery, quality, and supplier development
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in Buying / Procurement, Sourcing or Supply Chain
