In this role, you'll perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. The Cell Leader impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of their own team while having significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role, the role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
· Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
· Build and lead a team of salaried and hourly employees in a fast-paced, expansion-minded environment focused on the safety of the employees, quality of the product, development and continuous improvement of operational processes in an area, and successful delivery of a new product line out of the Richmond shop.
· Typically a 1st line manager of professionals or a 2nd line manager of a professional department. Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
· Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
· Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
· Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college
· 3+ years leading manufacturing operations with safety, quality, delivery, and cost responsibility
Eligibility Requirements
· Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
· This role is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Richmond, VA Repair Service Center
Desired Characteristics
· Master's degree from an accredited university or college
· Experience industrializing a new product
· Lean / Shingijutsu experience
· Repair and/or large industrial manufacturing experience
· Experience in building and leading teams through change and expansion
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
· Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
· Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Pay Transparency
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $103,100.00 - $150,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This posting is expected to close on June 19, 2025, or thereafter.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
