Job description

Future Proof is a specialist not for profit consultancy working in the impact assessment, reporting and engagement space. We are looking for someone to come along and help us in a number of areas but it is envisaged that it will principally be research based. We are a small organisation and work together to deliver on our projects finding that constant engagement and discussion allows us to explore the various dimensions that successful impact assessment demands. In this respect whoever we work with will be an integral part of the team and be expected to show some diversity to their though, actions and expectations. This is an intern position first off but we are growing as an organisation and so the possibility of becoming permanent is always there.

Our current need is for someone to help out with researching on some of our projects. This will primarily be an office based position, although we do have projects around the country and so some travel may be requested.

We are a not for profit and so we re-invest some of the money we earn back into social causes. Go Sketch is one such case linking sport with design, raising sporting awareness and activity for youngsters as well as building confidence. With this project some of our partners are premier league football clubs as well as sporting foundations. Outside of this our core business is consultancy and we work with a number of profit and non-profit organisations. Some of our work is international where we work with humanitarian agencies.

We are small - there are only 2 of us - and very adaptable to what our clients ask for. Our office is in the centre of Worthing but we travel around the country, our approach is quite informal but aimed at getting things done.

We are happy to offer some pay to whoever comes to join us and would wlecome the conversation with you when you come. We will give you a laptop and of course space to work.

Desired profile

As an intern/reasearch we are looking for someone who can apply themsevles to the varied we work we do. Our specialism is in impact assessment in the field of social and environmental, alongside reporting and stakeholder engagement activities - we work with concepts such as theory of change and logframes but are in no way wedded to them. We like to see ourselves as being very adaptable to the needs of our clients and so we are also looking for someone who is adaptable. You should also be fairly self sufficient and be able to explore concepts, finding new ways of looking at research, thinking of new ways of making data work for our clients. We also collect data and so you would be expected to help out on engagement and data collection exercises, often away from the office setting. A core piece of our work is with sports clubs delivering on activities that have a social impact, working with children. You will be expected to be very hands on with this - it is exciting and rewarding and a piece of work we are very proud of, achieving a very real social impact.

We would need you to be computer literate and know how to conduct research. If you could help out with social media that would also be very valuable. If you can drive, another asset, although not essential.

Make every future a success.
