Editorial/Business Development Internship
Internship Central Waterford (New London County) Journalism / PR
Job description
We're looking for a part-time editorial/business development volunteer to join us at FQ Magazine for a four-month internship (travel expenses paid), with the potential for a paid position on successful completion.
We're an online consumer lifestyle magazine and website that's been around for 15 years and celebrates fatherhood and parenthood, plus the lifestyle changes that come with it. Our output ranges from interviewing the likes of Paul McCartney, Mark Wahlberg and Harry Kane to reviewing the latest pushchairs.
The main purpose of the role is to help grow the business through securing product review samples and building strong relationships with relevant lifestyle and parenting PR contacts. Also, identifying and sealing commercial opportunities between FQ and relevant brands. There is also the chance to make commission on sales and you'll be provided with full direction and support along the way.
There is also the opportunity to write content (such as product reviews) as well as editing content and press releases, image searching, brainstorming editorial ideas and other ad hoc editorial support.
The role is mainly mobile, but we meet in central London once a week to catch up. And because we're a small team, you will play an important and valuable part of the team.
The hours are flexible but all we ask is that you're available to commit to two days' worth a week (14 hours).
We're looking for someone who is good with words and people and keen on gaining experience at a commercial publication. Plus, someone who is willing to listen and learn.
If this sounds like you, then please send us a cover letter and CV telling us why you'd be a great fit and what you can bring to FQ.
