Overview
The Maintenance & Facilities Manager is responsible for the optimal functioning of the maintenance and facilities organization within our location. You will lead a team of four Maintenance Employees and a Facilities Coordinator. Together, you will ensure that all processes related to technical maintenance, building management, and facilities services are structured, efficient, and future oriented.
In addition to overseeing daily operations, you will be responsible for setting up and monitoring routine work and processes. You understand the technique behind the internal processes, and you are able to establish an environment of continues improvement. You have a keen eye for contract management: you will manage a large number of contracts with suppliers and service providers, proactively negotiating rates, quality, and performance.
You will report directly to the Director of Operations and have a clear role in encouraging the personal development of your team and yourself.
Responsibilities
· Leading the team of four Maintenance Employees and one Facilities Coordinator: responsible for performance management and personal development of all team members.
· Establishing a culture of continuous technical improvement.
· Developing, implementing, and monitoring routine work processes within Maintenance and Facilities.
· Coordinating and prioritizing maintenance activities and facility services.
· Contract management: managing, evaluating, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and service providers.
· Monitoring quality, costs, and service levels for all vendors.
· Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) laws and regulations while working closely with QESH Manager.
· Identifying areas for improvement and initiating optimization projects.
· Reporting to the Director of Operations and contributing to the organization's strategic objectives.
· Encouraging personal and professional development within the team.
Qualifications
· HBO (Higher Professional Education) work and thinking level, preferably in a technical or facilities-related field.
· Experience with contract management and supplier negotiations.
· Strong in establishing and monitoring processes and routines.
· Results-oriented, analytical, and with an eye for quality and efficiency.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to switch between strategic and operational levels.
· Leadership skills: motivation, coaching, and focus on development.
