Job description

Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the operational teams within the warehouse. He/she is responsible for achieving the set KPIs, especially in the areas of productivity, absenteeism and employee engagement. In addition, he/she is responsible for proposing and implementing process improvements according to the Foot Locker Continuous Improvement methodology, with the aim of continuously improving operational efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities

Operational Team Management:

• Lead the Supervisors to ensure that the daily operational processes run smoothly.

• Coach and develop the Supervisors to achieve the set goals.

 

Focus on productivity and KPIs:

• Responsible for achieving the productivity targets based on the operational plan drawn up in collaboration with the Operational Excellence department.

• Ensure a good balance between efficiency and quality in the execution of all warehouse processes.

• Discuss the operational analyses and reports with the Operational Excellence department to continuously monitor the data and adjust where necessary.

 

Supervision of Personnel Planning:

• Monitor the correct execution and compliance with the personnel planning, drawn up by the Labor Planner, to ensure the right capacity and productivity.

• Coordinating the deployment of personnel and adjusting where necessary to achieve operational goals.

 

Absence Management:

• Responsible for drawing up and executing action plans to achieve the set absenteeism percentages.

• Collaborate with HR and managers to identify absenteeism in a timely manner and take effective measures to prevent and reduce absenteeism.

 

Engagement and performance cycle:

• Responsible for developing and executing action plans aimed at increasing employee engagement.

• Ensures that performance cycle agreements (including performance reviews and team goals) are adhered to and implemented.

• Create a positive and productive work environment by encouraging employee engagement and development.

 

Process improvement through continuous improvement methodology:

• Actively contribute to the improvement of operational processes through data-based analyses.

• Submit improvement proposals according to the Foot Locker Continuous Improvement methodology and implement these improvements to optimize efficiency, quality and cost control.

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure successful improvement processes.

 

Compliance with procedures and safety:

• Responsible for adhering to all established procedures, protocols and rules that apply within the warehouse, with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency.

• Ensure that all employees work in accordance with established safety regulations and guidelines and take corrective action where necessary.

Qualifications

• HBO education in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or a similar direction.

• Demonstrable experience in a managerial position within a logistics or warehouse environment. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is a plus. • Strong analytical skills, with experience in working with data and converting analyses into concrete actions.

• Excellent leadership and coaching skills.

• Strong communication skills and able to effectively manage and influence different levels within the organization.

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems and MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
