Job description
Overview
The In & Outbound Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the operational teams within the warehouse. He/she is accountable for achieving the defined KPIs, particularly in the areas of productivity, absenteeism, and employee engagement. In addition, he/she is responsible for proposing and implementing process improvements according to the Foot Locker Continuous Improvement methodology, with the goal of continuously improving operational efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities
Management of operational teams
· Lead the Supervisors to ensure smooth execution of daily operational processes.
· Coach and develop the Supervisors in order to achieve the defined goals.
Focus on productivity and KPIs
· Responsible for achieving productivity targets based on the operational plan developed in collaboration with the Operational Excellence department.
· Ensure a proper balance between efficiency and quality in the execution of all warehouse processes.
· Review operational analyses and reports with the Operational Excellence department to continuously monitor data and adjust where needed.
Oversight of workforce planning
· Oversee the correct execution and compliance of workforce planning, created by the Workforce Planner, to ensure the right capacity and productivity.
· Coordinate staffing and make adjustments where necessary to achieve operational objectives.
Absence management
· Responsible for developing and executing action plans to achieve the agreed absenteeism targets.
· Work closely with HR and supervisors to detect absenteeism in time and implement effective measures to prevent and reduce absenteeism.
Engagement and performance cycle
· Responsible for creating and executing action plans aimed at increasing employee engagement.
· Ensure compliance and implementation of agreements regarding the performance cycle (including performance reviews and team objectives).
· Foster a positive and productive work environment by stimulating employee engagement and development.
Process improvement through continuous improvement methodology
· Actively contribute to improving operational processes through data-driven analyses.
· Submit improvement proposals in line with the Foot Locker Continuous Improvement methodology and implement them to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost control.
· Collaborate with various departments to ensure successful improvement processes.
Compliance with procedures and safety
· Responsible for compliance with all established procedures, protocols, and regulations applicable within the warehouse, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
· Ensure that all employees adhere to safety regulations and guidelines and take corrective action where necessary.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
· Proven experience in a leadership role within a logistics or warehouse environment. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
· Strong analytical skills, with experience in working with data and translating analyses into concrete actions.
· Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively manage and influence different levels within the organization.
· Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
· Results-driven, with a focus on achieving operational objectives and motivating the team to ensure productivity and quality.
· Able to inspire, coach, and guide a team to bring out the best in themselves.
· Strong analytical insight with the ability to effectively use data to identify and solve problems.
· Experience with and enthusiasm for continuous improvement of processes to increase operational efficiency.
