Overview
The Distribution Center Lead is primarily responsible for scheduling and coordinating the flow of work within or between the departments of the distribution center to expedite on-time delivery and quality by performing their essential duties and responsibilities. This position must demonstrate a positive, professional image and attitude to all team members and staff. This position also requires a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and operational processes.
This opening is on 1st shift.
Responsibilities
· Review all daily projections and distribute labor accordingly while establishing team priorities when departmental needs change throughout the day
· Revise labor distribution to adjust established priorities and availability or capability of associates, parts, material, machines, and equipment
· Work within the department as a regular associate completing all tasks in assigned department
· Resolve all technical questions and maintain continuous workflow during breakdowns
· Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures
· Bring problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager
· Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings
· All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
· While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods
· Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly and 25-40 pounds occasionally and over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed
· Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed
· Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands
Required Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· One year experience working within the distribution center, preferred
· Yellow belt 6-sigma certification preferred
· Educated in basic lean concepts preferred
· Previous knowledge of automated DC Systems and current RF technology preferred
· Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
· Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with different levels within the organization
· Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and processes
· Ability to read, write, operate computer, RF device, conduct business-related mathematics, and analyze data as required
· Understand how to de-escalate situations with conflict management techniques
· Ability to provide constructive & timely feedback
· Take initiative to develop own skills & competencies
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English* to comprehend safety instructions, participate in safety drills and effectively communicate in case of emergencies

Work Environment:
This position works in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, RF scanner, computer, and tape dispensers. Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
Benefits
The compensation range is $23.00 / hr - $27.00 / hr . This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
