Fokker Services (FS) is part of Fokker Technologies, which develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aerospace industry, and supplies integrated maintenance services and products to aircraft owners and operators. FS has worldwide 600 employees at locations in the Netherlands, USA and Singapore and delivers logistic programs, engineering services and component repairs for different aircraft platforms.  Fokker Services consists of two business units; Redelivery Services (RS) and Availability Services (AS). For our business unit AS, the department of PME (production and maintenance engineering) is responsible for clever technical solutions as part of our availability products. Main topics are obsolescence management and reliability management. The PME group has a vacancy for a Reliability Engineer for our Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8 power by the hour programs.


 




Job Description

General purpose of the position:


Monitor and improve the performance of aircraft components covered under Fokker Services' power by the hour programs. Work together with customers to improve reliability of their fleet and within the power by the hour pools.


Manage improvements across the reliability playing field; customers, internal and external repair shops, component and aircraft OEM's. Perform Root Cause Analysis which will lead to corrective and prioritized actions to improve the reliability of repairable aircraft components.


Implement cost effective solutions, which are compliant to airworthiness regulations and monitor the effect of improvement actions.



Core tasks:



  • Perform analysis of component maintenance programs to achieve the highest level of safety and economics.

  • Work collaboratively across multiple levels of the organization and with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Provide customers and the internal organization with reliability reports.

  • Work closely together with Customers on reliability improvements for their fleet.

  • Continuously evaluate trends to determine the effect of improvement actions.

  • Support the Repair Management with advices on a technical level.

  • Work closely with Fokker Services Engineering, Suppliers, and Repair Stations to initiate improvement actions, to set priority and to improve the     reliability.

  • Perform root cause analysis and determine most cost effective countermeasures, with tools such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and    Root Cause Analysis (RCA). This in close collaboration with mentioned parties.

  • Conduct Performance Reviews by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to and from maintenance providers to achieve the highest level of     component maintenance performance.

  • Maintain compliance with airworthiness requirements.




Job Requirements

Your profile:


Hands-on, thorough, analytical, tenacious and assertive, able to convince others, a communicator.



  • HBO degree (Higher Professional Education) or working and thinking level (in a technical field)

  • Experience in project management.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical, analytical role in an aeropspace environment: have the ability to develop conclusions to complex analysis of aircraft systems,  component and computing problems. Shows a “balanced” view, which made effective use of all available information.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills (in English and Dutch). Ability to make effective presentations and reports to a wide range audience including management, technical, and non- technical levels.

  • Experience with Microsoft excel and access based analysis and reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good relationships with different departments within an internal organization, customers and suppliers.

  • Passion for technology. Shows technical and creative knowledge and expertise, with regard to work. New knowledge is acquired rapidly and follows developments in the field.

  • Strong team player. Works effectively and cooperatively with others. Actively shares knowledge and skills with others. Develop and maintain steady contacts between suppliers and colleagues.

  • Knowledge of Reliability processes, use of analytical tools such as FMEA and RCA. Ability to lead/facilitate reliability improvement efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision, self-starting and proactive, and has strong organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set realistic goals, and complete commitment on schedule.

  • Experience with Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8 platforms is a pro.
