Script Reader Intern
Film Daily
20 - 40 hours per week
Contract term: 3 Months - the end of time

Location: Successful candidates will combine working from home with working in our brand-new purpose-built studio in Church Fenton, North Yorkshire.

Film Daily is a new online platform connecting audiences with indie filmmakers via news, views, and reviews.

We are a scrappy new media startup aiming to disrupt the film distribution and production industries. We work with amazing, storied clients and new emerging technologies & agencies.

What you will learn: You will be working in the development department of a new media platform. You will learn to evaluate and provide feedback on screenplays, gain administrative skills, and maybe even greenlight a screenplay which meets our criteria. You will also work hand-in-hand with our screenwriting competition entrants to provide valuable coverage and help choose the winner of our ongoing screenwriters’ prizes.
You will learn how to:
Read scripts with an industry eye
Provide script coverage
Maintain contact databases
Maintain relationship with FilmFreeway & WithoutaBox
Research up-and-coming filmmakers & screenwriters
Assist with our award event planning
Assist with other duties in an ad-hoc fashion
Communicate with shortlisted screenwriters’ prize entrants
Manage online presence
Announce call to entries via website & social media
Create partnership opportunities with similar businesses
Position Requirements
Working knowledge of Google / Microsoft Office products
Working knowledge of Excel & Google Sheets
Working knowledge of social media & forums
Knowledge of the film industry & film festival circuit
Love of independent film
Working laptop
Experience working in an office environment
Typing speeds of 35 WPM & up
Excellent reading & listening skills
Education
We prefer candidates who have studied film, journalism, or creative writing.
