"THE DEN imagines a world of two societies at war; adults and children. This war has led to the government putting restrictions on child-rearing; with only those wealthy enough allowed to conceive. An underground community called THE DEN emerges, where abandoned and illegal children come to seek refuge. THE DEN is a world where freedom, creativity and fun abound but it has one rule that means everything.
All Adults stay out or get killed."

This summer we will produce a full length production of The Den over a 3-day run on a 3,500sqm disused site in East London.

We are therefore looking for people that can join our voluntary construction set team. You would be either experienced in building work, carpentry, set design, or architecture. This will be an ambitious production, giving you the opportunity to utilise your skills in a imaginative and creative way, whilst being under the direction of a Stage Manager, as well as a Production Manager and Production Designer to realise the life-size set.

Our construction voluntary duties will also include but not be limited to;

-Working from ground/floor plans
-assisting costume designer
-Painting/ Rigging
-sourcing materials
-Set construction/building
-model box making
This piece is being created with support from the Barbican Centre and our aim is for this short run to become something we tour in subsequent years.

This is a non payed job for 4-weeks between August and September.That said, there will be a number of days leading up to this that may involve meetings and/or on site planning for which we will be unable to provide remuneration at this time.

Applicants should have the following skills and experience:

-Begging/borrowing/stealing
-Set construction/ Building Construction
-Scenic painting (preferable)
-Sourcing low cost materials
-Up-cycling
-model/prop making (preferable)
-Working with a large team
-CRB/DBS certificate (not essential)
-Site-Specific/Outdoor experience

No minimum qualifications needed but applicants must be able to demonstrate a Hard working, commitment attitude at all times.
