Assistante Stage Manager (Theatre Interns)

Job description

We are looking for up to 3 strong Stage Management/Technical Theatre students or graduates to come and work with us on an exciting and ambitious professional Theatre production at the Oval House Theatre in London over 6 weeks.

FAITH Drama Productions(FDP) and Art Machine are working collaboratively to produce a brand new play- CUSTODY which is set to have 10 performances at OVAL HOUSE THEATRE in March/April 2017 followed by a further week of performances at unconventional spaces aimed at community audiences around East London.

CUSTODY is written by Tom Wainwright, Directed by Gbemisola Ikumelo (FDP) and created by Urbain Hayo (Art Machine) and examines how a Black British family survives after their Son, Lover and Brother dies under suspicious circumstances in police custody.

We are interested in working with ambitious ASMs who will assist our Technical Stage-Mgr with from everything from scheduling, sourcing props, get-in, Set construction, book prompt and backstage needs on each show. We are also particularly interested in people pursuing Theatre design as there will much scope to assist our designer on this production also.

This will suit people who might need a placement as part of their course or graduates looking for opportunities to work in a producing house.

Rehearsals: 6th-25th March
Tech: Mon 27 March
First Preview Tuesday 28
Last Performance: Saturday 8 April
Unconventional spaces performances: 17th-21st April (TBC)

FEE:
This will be an expenses only opportunity. ASMs will be needed up to 3 days a week over the 6-week period and whilst we will aim to be flexible, we expect candidates to be reliable.
