Job Title: Personal Support Assistant

Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: £7.85 - £8.38 per hour (depending on Qualifications)

Location: Lark Hill Retirement Village, New Rise, Clifton, Nottingham, NG11 8BF

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust established since 1988, is the pioneer of Village communities which enable people to enjoy active and independent lifestyles in their later years. We operate in over 31 supported housing schemes and retirement villages throughout the UK, promoting an enjoyable quality of life. These roles will be based at Lark Hill Village, Nottingham.

You will be required to deliver care and support to residents in the Village in a manner that provides them with opportunities to use their abilities and enhance their quality of life that maintains their independence and privacy

You will be required to deliver care and support to residents in the Village in a manner that provides them with opportunities to use their abilities and enhance their quality of life that maintains their independence and privacy.

Duties to include:

* To promote the physical, emotional and well being of our residents in all aspects of personal care for example dressing, washing, bathing, mobility assistance where necessary.

* To follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as agreed with the resident in receipt of care or private customers.

* Administrating medication.

* Completing and working to care plans and completing daily paperwork.

* Moving and handling resident.

* Be involved in providing a personalised housing related support service to older people with an assessed need which will help them to remain as independent as possible.

* Escorting residents, where it is identified in their Care Plan, to and from appointments in the Village centre, e.g. hairdresser, gym, wellbeing, activities and entertainment, or to the entrance of the Village for external appointments.

* Completes all statutory and mandatory training required to carry out this post, as defined by ExtraCare.

* To be conversant and compliant with all ExtraCare’s Policies and Procedures.

QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent preferred.
