Job Title: Activity Support Worker
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £7.85 - £8.38 per hour depending on QCF/NVQ Qualification
Location: St Crispin Village, St Crispin Drive, Duston, Northampton NN5 4RB
The ExtraCare Charitable Trust established since 1988, is the pioneer of Village communities which enable people to enjoy active and independent lifestyles in their later years. We operate in over 31 supported housing schemes and retirement villages throughout the UK, promoting an enjoyable quality of life.
We are currently looking to recruit an Activity Support Worker to join the team at St Crispin Village in Northampton.
Our Activity Support Workers are required to help facilitate residents attending activities and/or appointments and should be fully trained in the delivery of personal care in a manner that provides them with opportunities to use their abilities and enhance their quality of life that maintains their independence and privacy.
Duties to include:
Encourage Resident’s to take part in daily exercise and activities, assisting them to attend, take part or return to their apartment.
Make Resident’s aware, on a daily basis, of what activities are taking place or being organised, encouraging and assisting them to attend.
Promote ExtraCare’s Traditions and actively encourage participation.
To provide all aspects of personal care to residents in accordance with their individual needs and ExtraCare’s Quality Care Delivery Manual.
To promote the physical, emotional and wellbeing of these residents in all aspects of personal care for example dressing, washing, bathing, mobility assistance where necessary and administration of medicine.
Maintain a positive working relationship with family, friends and volunteers for the general well being of the resident.
To maintain a respectful relationship with all other residents who are not on care who wish to lead an independent lifestyle.
To attend handover before and after shift to communicate with the Team Leaders all areas of need and any concerns.
Be involved in providing a support service to older people with which will help them to remain as independent as possible. To enable people to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy an active lifestyle and make a positive contribution.
To work closely with family, friends and volunteers for the general well being of the resident.
QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent preferred
