Extel is the market-leading source of awards and rankings for investment professionals in European Equities. Operating since 1974, the survey has developed into a mainly on-line voting process, with over 13,500 contributors from 2,800 firms covering three sides of the community. The survey is currently conducted from March to April every year, and the results published in June. Production of the survey and the subsequent results is a mammoth task and a vacancy has been created as the junior member of the team to assist with all tasks associated with the survey. Extel is owned by WeConvene, a financial technology company based in Hong Kong and expanding operations into Europe and North America.
The Junior Analyst will be taught all elements of the survey with a view to a becoming an experienced member of the team over time. The work is cyclical with periods of high intensity and long hours, and others that are relatively quiet. Miscellaneous requests are received during the remainder of the year as well as an ongoing development programme to improve the survey process. Following recent management changes, significant enhancements are planned including some large-scale technical improvements and geographical expansion. Located in WeWork at London Wall, the team is currently small but likely to grow. It is a fun & dynamic working environment, the team is close-knit and have worked together for a number of years.
As the junior member of the team, the job purpose is to provide support to and assist with all functions involved in production of the survey. The tasks change as the survey process evolves, but there is also much work to be done over the coming year in terms of technological development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), client requests and providing ongoing customer service. Much of the work is team based and there are three other members of the team that will provide immediate supervision in the first instance. We also have three database management staff in Manila (Philippines) to assist with heavy database management. Eventually, the role may develop to include client facing activities such as sales, demonstrations and business development.
