We are looking for a Process & Core Product Developer V.I.E
SCOPE: Process innovation & renovation, product renovation, product extension & industrial transfer.
The Process & Core Product Developer is responsible for:
PRODUCT RENOVATION:
- Establish the diagnosis of discrepancies between expected attempts and the real products.
- Analyse gaps and results in relation with market feeds-back (customers / consumers), propose and implement approved corrective actions-plans.
- Redefine accordingly the current documentation with the different departments (operation / quality) to best meet the sensorial defined criteria.
- Evaluate product performance.

- Proactively make appropriate recommendations to review process based on daily observations and analysis
- Help the operation & quality teams to test and implement the modifications into the process.
- Together with Engineering, define production equipment’s specifications
- Ensure alignment of ingredients/products/packaging specifications with R&D Product Development and R&D Packaging Development
CORE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND PROCESS INNOVATION:
- Develop prototypes according to marketing brief
- Implement and monitor industrial trials and launch (with production, supply and quality teams)
- Check the impact on organoleptic side after accelerate ageing test
- Check sterilisation program
- Support operation team during the learning curve (post launch)
- Support implementation of new cutting grid
- Support Engineering team to define production equipment’s specifications
- Ensure alignment of ingredients/products/packaging specifications with R&D Product Development and R&D Packaging Development
- Develop and up-date ingredient / product / packaging specifications
- Support Product Development team for complex development
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
- Organise, plan and track all project steps with appropriate tools as a Project Technical Owner
- PTO (Easy PM
- Clarizen)
- Highlight what is working or not working, potential risks and propositions of corrective actions
- Prioritise projects according to demand for the plant and highlight potential bottle-necks
- Track of expenses according to projects
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT:
- Deliver process guidelines for current and new processes
- Propose recommendations in order to reduce process variabilities and improve products performance and consistency for each plant and between plants.
- Develop alignment between plants
- Help to establish, implement and track actions-plan
- Audit and analyse gaps between guidelines and recommendations
- Propose and do trials to improve process
- Understand and challenge equipment
- Executing the annual heat penetration check control plan and data analysis
- Follow the annual heat penetration check control plan and data analysis
SENSORY:
- Recommend sensory methods to better understand products
- Understand and analyse sensory reports
- Challenge sensory institute to better understand results
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Degree in Food Science/product & process development
- Minimum of experience in food industry is necessary, for fishery products would be a plus.
- Good sensory skills (particularly on fish as tuna...)
- Practice of development of new products including HACCP principles in development, market requests management…
- Extensive problem solving with analytical skills and the ability to apply reason, logic and date to influence others to get the job done
- Management of projects with high level in using IT tools (Data base, Excel…)
- Excellent written and verbal English
