Context of mission :
EMPI is lens manufacturing plant located in Mariveles, Bataan, Philippines. We offer a very challenging mission: in coordination with the world wide Continuous Improvement team, the incumbent will be in charge of implementing the LIFE (Lean Initiative for Excellence) Principles, Tools and Methodologies across production workshops to optimize yield, productivity, and efficiency, while reducing scrap rate within the target. On top of that, the VIE should ensure the validation of new processes, their measurements, and flows prior to implementation.
Poste et missions:
The VIE will work as a Continuous Improvement Lean Engineer responsible for the improvement of current process using different problem solving tools and methodologies of LIFE, and look for opportunities for improvement. You will be required to coordinate with LIFE Coordinators across the Essilor worldwide organization in Asia and Europe. Among the primary responsibilities of this role, you will have to understand Essilor Manufacturing process, to make the link between Headquarters support and Thai team and to secure improvement or change management.
Your missions are to:
- Ensures Plant capacity optimization and be involved in expansion projects (process/product/equipment/flow/etc.).
- Spearhead cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct work study for flow improvement.
- Coordinate continuous improvement activities in the workshop.
Demonstrate skill in the implementation of the principles, practices, and techniques of LIFE for maximum cost and waste reduction and profit improvement
- Manage risks, help set direction and lead the way to breakthrough / continuous improvement
- Assist in the identification of the company’s key projects
- Support production team on their request to deliver lenses within set targets and within LIFE principles
Profil:
Technical requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Knowledge of quality tools (TMS, SPC, 8D, DOE, FMEA), Project Management, and OEE is desirable but not required.
- Ability to propose new solutions and to innovate in a “continuous improvement approach”.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and planning skills along with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong critical thinking & problem solving ability.
- Good communication, presentation, moderation and organization skills.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills (written and spoken.)
