The opportunity:
EY is currently seeking high-potential Seniors to deliver exceptional client service and enable the continued growth of our GCR Global Operations practice. The candidate will work directly with the Americas Commercial Management Office Lead and Global Operations across the Center of Excellence /COE to launch and drive the Global Operations specifically on commercials processes, protocols, assets and development/roll-out of agile tools. The CMO Senior will collaborate with our clients and internal teams by helping to establish and monitor/model pricing and costing for various TFO engagements and evolve client transition and delivery, commercial architecture and strategic commercial management. Our market-leading approach combines functional outsourcing experience with local tax and accounting experience. Key responsibilities:
The CMO Senior will collaborate across the Americas Global Operations and Tax & Finance Operate practice and the Global Operations community to optimize and operationalize the Americas GCR commercials of Tier 1 engagements. Employing solid business intelligence, technical acumen combined with an application of an entrepreneur mindset, you will support the development and deployment of the Americas Commercial Management function. Additionally, you will work with engagement and area teams to optimize commercial delivery within the Tier 1 engagements.
· Serving as Commercials Coach throughout and Engagement’s Lifecycle
· Advising on contracting, contract amendment protocols, Mercury and compliance with contract obligations (teaming with TAL, TFO EP, Tax Quality and GCO)
· Bringing a global perspective to operationalizing and managing the interfirm, change request, scope and fee, estimate to complete, billing, reporting and all other CMO processes/functions
· Driving simplification of activities, awareness of leading practices/assets and optimization of engagement financials (including but not limited to margin)
· Training practice and COE teams on CMO/Mercury processes and CMO recommended tools
· Representing the Americas CMO defining business requirement and Commercials Assets
· Serving as a ‘Commercials Coach’ to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engagements
· Collaborating across Global Operation pillars and functions to drive asset build and deployment
· Influencing the creation/adoption of commercial standards, leading practices, and assets across the GCR and Global Operations community
· Opportunity and Contract Management
· Overseeing Americas contract elements, executing contract amendments, ensuring compliance with contract obligations and preparing for contract renewal activities
· Assisting the Americas’ CMO Lead to influence the adoption of standard and leading practices, assets, activities, and tools throughout the engagement life cycle (e.g. opportunity coding attributes, pricing plans, engagement set-up, ETC, Scope and Fee management, Change Request management, etc.
· Project Financial Management
· Assisting with the development fee allocation standards to address complex financial mechanisms
· Monitoring engagement activities and consulting on engagement principles, assets/tools to simplify and manage engagement economics (vs. target), billing, and agile reporting of project financial metrics to account and firm leadership
· Interfirm Relationship Management
· Advising central client teams on the launch and maintenance of an interfirm contracting process
· Maintaining change request process, maintaining scope and fee database or MDC, managing foreign invoice codes and managing fee disputes
· Portfolio (Practice) Financial Management
· Maintaining the Americas pipeline
· Monitoring the Americas and Regional portfolio key metrics
· Sustaining supporting master data and tools
· Driving actionable reporting and analytics across multiple dimensions
To qualify for the role, you must have
· Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of three years of related work experience
· Strong team, project, and people management skills with an ability to work under tight deadlines
· Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills as well as a strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and an entrepreneurial approach to work
· Core understanding of Mercury: Opportunity module data (including PACE pricing plans creation); Billing, My Business suite, Engagement Management (code set-up & maintenance, closure,
· Strong tax compliance experience
· Flexibility and willingness to travel
· Ability to train virtual and on-site teams, mentor counselees and manage client-serving business
· Strong proficiency and a high level of comfort working with new and emerging technologies
· Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements
