Services that drive competitive advantage and increase shareholder returns are in high demand.  Clients frequently seek external support to help them structure, quantify and implement complex financial decisions including acquisitions, strategic options and investment appraisal.

The Decision Modelling & Analystics Team, within EY’s Strategy and Transactions (SaT) practice, is a provider of business analytics solutions to help support the full spectrum of Strategy and Transactions offerings. We work across sectors and our solutions focus on supporting strategic, operational, and financial decision making using technology and analytics. Our team consists of analytics, technology, and financial modeling professionals, all of whom have a strong interest in business and finance. Our work is often innovative and rapid, delivering solutions within weeks to a few months.

We are seeking data analystics and finaical modelling professionals with experience designing or implementing technology solutions to solve business problems.

Your key responsibilities
·  Translating data into actionable insights and business opportunities through data transformation, modelling, and validation.
·  Identifying issues and proposing strategies related to the procedures executed.
·  Synthesizing and presenting quantitative results to colleagues and clients with finance or operations backgrounds.
·  Developing and reviewing complex quantitative models.
·  Using current technology and tools to innovate and enhance the effectiveness of services provided and acting as a leader in adopting new tools and techniques.
·  Managing your time effectively and communicating progress to managers and partners.
·  Sharing your expertise and best-practice guidance with colleagues across the business.
·  Staying abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business.
·  Demonstrating teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members.
·  Demonstrating in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.
·  Maintaining long-term client relationships and networks.

  To qualify for the role, you must have
·  A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, Operations Research, or Computer Science.
·  The ability to work autonomously and prioritize your workload, often while working on multiple demanding projects.
·  Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to all audiences.
·  Knowledge of advanced modelling and analytics methods, such as statistics, segmentation & clustering, predictive modelling, simulation, and optimization, particularly:
·  Working with any combination of R or Python.
·  Working with SQL.
·  Creating optimization models using operations research techniques including transportation modelling, linear optimization and heuristics.
·  Using data mining and statistical tools.
·  Statistical modelling, ETL and data ingestion/cleansing.
·  Other predictive modelling techniques (e.g. random forest, boosted trees, neural networks).
·  Connecting data sources and structures including APIs.
·  Experience with Azure cloud computing technology an asset
·  Demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
·  3+ years of related work experience.

Ideally, you’ll also have
·  Ability to create innovative, robust and flexible solutions based on client’s financial and operational information to provide insight into client decisions.
·  Ability to manage own learning and contribute to knowledge building.
·  Understanding of basic financial and business terminology.
·  Consultancy experience.
·  General PC proficiency including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·  This role will most likely require some travel within Canada and could require overseas working from time to time.
