Senior Consultant/Manager – IFRS and consolidation (Financial Accounting & Advisory Services) – Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent

The opportunity

We are looking to strengthen our Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (“FAAS”) team with experienced profiles. The FAAS team consists of a group of experts in the following areas:

·  Accounting excellence: IFRS, IPSAS, ESA, Belgian GAAP;
·  Consolidation plus mergers and acquisitions: carve-out, IPO support consolidation, integration assistance;
·  Management reporting : dashboards, closing process, cost accounting, cash flow analysis;
·  Public sector: finance and controlling, management performance, operations performance.

Through this vacant position we envision to recruit experienced profiles to work specifically on accounting excellence, consolidation and reporting. Our team is active in the Diegem, Antwerp and Ghent office allowing you to work in a flexible manner.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your experience and your interests, your responsibilities can be discussed. These will depend on the sub-department of FAAS you are interested in joining:

Accounting excellence

· 
You have a good knowledge of the IFRS standards and BEGAAP accounting;

· 
You have a passion for IFRS and are willing to continuously keep your knowledge up to date with the new evolvements;

· 
Our team is focused on IFRS conversions and implementation of new standards. Next to that, we also often provide BEGAAP assistance. As such we are expecting you to have a deep interest in this type of work and a willingness to develop in this area;

· 
You feel comfortable in giving IFRS related presentations internally to EY people but also externally to our clients;

· 
You will work together with our IFRS community in further strengthening our IFRS team.

Consolidation, mergers and acquisitions

· 
You sufficiently understand the consolidation principles to assist in:

· 
Implementing consolidation tools;

· 
Preparing Belgian and IFRS consolidated financial statements and disclosures;

· 
You already gained practical experience within the financial statement close process (group reportings, account reconciliations, preparing cash flow, drafting instructions,…);

· 
You have any other relevant experience such as carve-outs, finance project management, specific M&A projects,…;

· 
You have an analytical mindset.

You have a Master Degree and 2 – 10 years of experience in a domain relevant to IFRS and/or consolidation;

You are fluent in Dutch or French with a very good knowledge of English;

Your work style is pragmatic and hands-on;

· 
You are willing to work in our office in Diegem, Ghent or Antwerp, but are flexible to work at clients sites as well.
