Risk Management, Ethics & Compliance Associate

As Risk Management Senior Associate, you'll contribute to one or more Risk Management process(es). To achieve this, you'll develop knowledge in this process and related areas. The process helps identify and mitigate risk in client and vendor relationships. You'll be involved in one or more Risk Management Process teams such as the Ethics and Compliance team and liaise between the client teams and Risk Management.

You'll provide research and analysis across the topics relevant to the Ethics & Compliance program or other Risk Management teams. To achieve this, you'll interpret policies and processes, determine required actions, and make recommendations based on firm guidance and your own experience. In addition, you'll analyze issues, and document the diligence with which tasks are performed, to help meet the demands of external regulators.

You’ll support the Compliance monitoring program to assist the Ethics & Compliance team and Area compliance leaders in identifying possible regulatory non-compliance or elevated risk within the business. You’ll do this by creating and running data tests to interrogate transaction data to identify risk indicators and trends.

In this role, you'll use your subject matter knowledgeto execute effective compliance monitoring andassist your team in advising professionals across a range of service lines, industry sectors and geographic Areas. This will involve dealing with complex, non-standard issues within the process(es). You'll also recommend modifications and enhancements, helping the process(es) continue to support firm priorities and needs. You'll work with executive-level personnel, train and mentor team members, and achieve effective day-to-day operation of the process team.

You'll work independently, with periodic feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Support the Ethics & Compliance program in managing the Firm’s compliance program and monitoring for non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
·  Assist with responses to consultations from Service Lines and other business units related to compliance topics (e.g. responding to compliance-related vendor questionnaires from clients).
·  Participate in the design, launch, and execution of risk-based monitoring processes, programs, reporting, and analysis across various compliance areas to identify potential policy and regulatory compliance issues.
·  Analyze issues, review results, and provide recommendations to improve the quality of compliance monitoring processes in accordance with EY guidance and professional standards. 
·  Contribute to knowledge relevant Risk Management training programs for the business
·  Recommend ways to improve process(es), and/or develop new approaches, calling on your Risk Management and business experience
·  Support the resolutions of conflicts on complex or non-standard issues related to Lobbying and Political Compliance or other Risk Management processes. This will involve utilizing technical, service line or core infrastructure knowledge
·  Assist with the establishment and implementation of project plans, including goals and measures.
·  Keep documentation and information on process(es) up to date
·  Liaise between clients and members (including leaders) of Risk Management and various other functional areas within the firm (e.g., Center for Business Knowledge, Finance, IT, Strategic Sourcing)
·  Gain an understanding of the key requirements of firm policies and regulators' rules. Gain knowledge of Risk Management outside of your own area.Translate this knowledge into action plans and recommendations as appropriate to address risks.
·  Develop relationships, and build a network of people within your team and across the firm
·  Gain a solid understanding of relevant parts of the EY business

To qualify, candidates must have:

·  Basic knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
·  Strong research and problem-solving skills
·  Astute attention to detail
·  Flexibility to adapt to different working situations
·  Adept at keeping sensitive information confidential
·  Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
·  Strong technical abilities andgood working knowledge of common software packages, including analytical tools
·  1-4 plus years of related experience
·  Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Ideally, you’ll have

·  The ability to learn and understand the firm and regulators’ independence rules and policies as well as familiarity with other quality & risk management initiatives outside your area of expertise
·  Ability to manage tasks and activities in a timely manner and be responsible for specific outcomes
