The opportunity

 

For our office situated in Diegem or Antwerp, we are looking for an Assistant for the Tax Quality (below called ‘TQ’) Department, which manages Quality and Risk matters for Belgium. EY is subject to various reviews internally and of outside regulators which further emphasize the critical role TQ plays in an organization like EY.

 

We will support you to “learn on the job” from more experienced professionals in our team, who take on a coaching and mentoring role. You will join a dynamic team, genuinely passionate about its work, within a leading global professional services firm.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a TQ assistant and a team member of the TQ team, your role will be:

 

·  To advise professionals on compliance issues related to internal client and engagement acceptance procedures in accordance to our internal policies and external regulations like (but not limited to) anti money laundering
·  To assist in the follow up of compliance activities and provide feedback on outstanding issues to the TQ team, eg: Company’s internal policies, procedures and tools
·  To follow up on reporting activities and internal audits
·  Proactively ensure and monitor ongoing compliance with regulations and their corrective actions in the Tax department
·  Assist in further embedding a Quality compliance culture within the business true communication and training programs (together with our learning team) to support and provide assistance on various Quality and risk management matters.
·  You will liaise with fee earners and personal assistants to ensure the compliance with our policies and procedures
·  Work with Firm Independence Team/ Legal team in Belgium and abroad to come to grips with regulatory environment and our policies;
·  Liaise and follow up all formalities related to our professional body ITAA
·  Think pro-actively and creatively about ways to enhance Quality and risk effectiveness in our Tax Department

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

·  You are eager to learn and you have a strong interest in Quality and Risk Management;
·  To qualify for the role you must have
·  You hold a professional bachelor of “business management – legal practice”-degree
·  You have a good spoken and written knowledge and communication skills of the following languages: Dutch, French and English
·  You are self-motivated, service-minded and flexible
·  You have the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team
·  You have a sense of organization and precision
·  You are stress-resistant
·  Professional experience is an advantage but not required
·  You consider yourself as being tool minded
