The opportunity

 

We have new opportunities for talented individuals to join our team based in Newcastle as Assistant Tax Advisors working within the PAS Global Mobility Tax Compliance team. You will be working directly on UK tax compliance and reporting matters alongside senior colleagues.  You will receive extensive training and support to assist you in building a successful career within EY’s PAS team.

 

Your key responsibilities

At EY we operate a ‘client centric’ approach, meaning we aim to be our clients’ trusted business partner.  This is achieved by being pro-active, understanding their challenges and providing a relevant and high level of seamless client service:

·  Preparation of UK personal tax returns for globally mobile employees
·  Interaction with other EY offices both in the UK and overseas
·  Contributing to the successful delivery of mobility tax compliance services and ensuring technical excellence.
·  Facilitating workflow to colleagues in the UK and our offshore compliance processing centre
·  Communicating with HM Revenue & Customs on compliance matters

 

Skills and attributes for success

·  The ability to work as part of a team is paramount;
·  The ability to communicate well at all levels, both written and oral;
·  Enthusiastic and energetic; able to embrace new ways of working.
·   Plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines
·  Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a high professional standard;
·  IT literacy (proficiency with Excel is desirable), with the ability to adapt to new systems;

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

·  Initiative, professionalism and confidence
·  Eligibility to work in the UK
·  A-level(s) or equivalent

 

Ideally, you’ll also have:

·  A related degree or qualification
·  An understanding of Tax is desirable but not necessary as training and study support will be provided
