The Opportunity
As an ITTS Assistant Manager, you'll demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply your tax knowledge to client situations, developing and delivering innovative tax planning ideas with timely, responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. You will conduct tax due diligence reviews, engage in structuring engagements and thoroughly and accurately analyze information and prepare quality, practical and creative approaches tailored to a client's tax and economic situation, arriving at appropriate conclusions. Your remit will include managing the work of client service team members and participating in and contributing to attaining team goals.
Skills and Attributes for success
· Conduct tax due diligence reviews, including coordinating other specialist teams (e.g. VAT, Payroll, Customs, Transfer Pricing) and other jurisdictions.
· Draft tax structuring memoranda for acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations
· Participate in international tax engagements.
· Providing research as part of tax advice on projects.
· Act as part of the tax team delivering an accrual review (if required).
· Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress.
· Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
· Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
· Build strong internal relationships with other members of the ITTS team and across other services sub-service lines and other EY Offices across the world.
· Working towards deadlines and achieving set utilisation targets.
· Managing budgets and WIP on behalf of the Partners.
· Assist with project management of transactions and projects.
To qualify for the role, you must have
· CA (SA), TA(SA) or admitted attorney. Preferable experience in one of the Big 4.
· A minimum of 2 years
