The market is impacted by changing regulations, new payment structures, increasing reliance on technology and digital solutions as well as a move towards population health and value-based care.
As a Senior within our Health Consulting practice, you’ll work with clients across the provider industry, from hospitals and large provider groups to health-focused investors and health technology companies. You’ll use your industry knowledge, project management skillset and relationship-building capabilities to assist our clients to efficiently and effectively deliver services.
The opportunity
As part of EY’s Health Consulting practice, you’ll work with clients across the country in solving complex problems with the backdrop of a rapidly changing healthcare environment. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior, with a focus on and previous experience in provider operations, to support our client engagement teams. This role will include working with a wide variety of non-for-profit and for-profit healthcare clients, including healthcare systems, physician practices and academic medical centers, to deliver professional services. In addition to supporting our clients with health transformation and process redesign efforts, this role will also include contributing to business development activities on both strategic national and priority global accounts.
Your key responsibilities
· Work with engagement teams to develop the client’s transformation strategy
· Develop and maintain key project management documents, such as work plans, process documents and trackers
· Conduct detailed analyses, such as benchmarking, financial modeling and process mapping, to draw conclusions and develop pertinent and insightful recommendations
· Provide implementation support and/or lead workstream(s) as part of a larger engagement team and health transformation implementation
· Enable a healthcare client’s technology solutions (e.g. electronic medical record system, bolt-on vendors) to support current and/or expand business functions
· Design work products to reflect analysis conducted and recommendations
· Present findings and recommendations to client leadership
· Anticipate risks associated with timely and high-quality project delivery and have comfort escalating to project management teams and leadership
· Apply industry knowledge related to operations improvement, revenue cycle, provider network management, cost optimization, care model design including both population health management and value-based care readiness

· Remain current on new developments in consulting service capabilities
To qualify for the role you must have
· A bachelor's degree and approximately 3+ years of related work experience or a master's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience
· Approximately 2 years of healthcare advisory/consulting experience, preferably with prior experience as a Senior (or above) in a consulting firm or in a management role within industry
· Experience in delivering projects that cover the full life cycle from assessment and design to implementation support
· Professional competence in Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio in addition to experience conducting analyses in programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau or Power BI
· Ability to oversee a team of intern and/or staff consulting professionals
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (e.g. knows when to lead and when to follow)
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60% (recognizing our business model is evolving and this will likely decrease)
Ideally, you’ll also have
· Professional or advanced degree training (ex. CPA, MBA, MHA, MPH, MSN or JD)
· A liberal arts (BA), clinical (BSN), business (BSBA) or public health (BSPH) background with superior written communication and critical thinking skills
