The Opportunity

Being at the forefront of technology we are now helping EY clients move from traditional data warehouse environments onto big data platforms or are helping create hybrid environments combining old and new technologies. This is an exciting time that involves new sets of problems and leveraging our knowledge of traditional environments and pushing the boundaries of big data and analytics. 

You will be joining a growing team of data focused consultants working on some of the most exciting projects in Hong Kong. This team works on a mix of Big Data, traditional business intelligence and data analysis projects with a strong focus on advanced analytics, data science and cloud technologies.

Your key responsibilities

As a Big Data Architect , you will work with our Hong Kong team to design and architect BI & Advanced Analytic solutions utilising leading big data platforms and cloud technologies. Our current team is working on some of the latest technologies in the region using advanced analytics solutions such as AWS, Azure, Hortonworks, Cloudera etc.  

This role will find you:

·  Architecting and designing Big Data platforms on cloud or on-premise
·  Advising clients on latest big data and analytic technologies
·  Mentoring junior team members
·  Documenting the architecture against business requirements
·  Providing Architecture input to pre-sales activities
·  Presenting and explaining Big Data Architecture technologies to senior client stakeholders

To qualify for the role, you must have

·  6+ years industry experience in Data & Analytics with1-3 years experience in a similar role as a Solution Architect, Data Warehouse Architect or Big Data Architect
·  Experience with or knowledge of traditional DW environments: Teradata, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server
·  Experience with or knowledge of Batch and real-time streaming technologies such as Datastage, Informatica, ODI, Spark, Flink, Kafka
·  Experience with or knowledge of Big Data platforms such as Hortonworks, MAPR, EMR, HDInsight or Cloudera
·  Experience with or knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Alibaba
·  Strong communications skills, written and verbal

Your past experience might have found you playing the role of:

·  Data Architect, Big Data Architect, Solution Architect, Data Warehouse Architect

Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Fluency in English
·  Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
·  Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills
