The opportunity

The Talent Development and Learning Team for EY Canada is seeking a personable and proactive individual to help us execute the processes required by our CPA students to become members with their local CPA Body. The incumbent will work primarily with EY’s National CPA team but will also have significant interaction with CPA students from all service lines within EY.  

The CPA Practical Experience (PE) Coordinator is the first point of contact responsible for answering inquiries from CPA students regarding practical experience policies and processes which lead to CPA membership. The CPA PE Coordinator's work includes discussions with students, performing transactions, data entry, records management and other practical experience processes.

Your key responsibilities:

•    Provide general CPA practical experience support by serving as the first point of contact for CPA students, managing or escalating issues as necessary;
•    Answer routine practical experience questions from CPA students and assist with problem solving (chat, email and phone);
•    Proactively relays potential issues to the CPA Program Manager; 
•    Assist EY’s National CPA team with implementation and communication of major processes including onboarding, practical experience requirements, and departures;
•    Participate in presentations and learning sessions with CPA students on their practical experience requirements; 
•    Responsible for onboarding CPA students onto CPA Canada’s Practical Experience Reporting Tool (PERT); 
•    Responsible for working with CPA students and their mentors to complete the CPA Student Designation Review Process, and ensure all necessary forms and documents are completed and returned;
•    Administer the CPA student departure process, including providing departing students with pertinent and accurate information, and completing related transactions;
•    Create and maintain all necessary CPA student practical experience personnel files; 
•    Maintains the appropriate level of CPA practical experience process knowledge, customer satisfaction, and quality metrics.  Utilizes all available knowledge sources, procedures and tools;
•    Assists in updating procedures and policy documents on the firm sites;
•    Participates in regular status update meetings with the National CPA Team; and
•    Helps with special projects as necessary.

•    Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information
•    Proficient in Excel (filters, vlookups, pivot tables or Power Query).  
•    Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly and effectively
•    Bilingual (French/English) is an asset but not a requirement

• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
