The opportunity

Our Life Insurance Transformation practice is currently hiring for a Senior Technology Consultant to advise our life insurance clients on transforming their life insurance, annuity, group benefits, and retirement operations and systems. This includes the transformation of business processes, systems, and technology improvements.

In this role, you will help our clients achieve their desired goals and business objectives and in return, you can expect to learn leading practices in technology transformation, delivery, and exposure to a wide variety of business challenges that are solved using digital and transformational technologies. There are also opportunities to collaborate with market leading technology product platforms in shaping their roadmap and helping our clients implement their platform.

Your key responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop new integrations using various patterns(e.g. orchestrations, messaging patterns, event generation, data streaming)as well as customize core FINEOS AdminSuite product features to accommodate customer specific needs. You will be expected to leverage your knowledge of best practices and tools in this area to create efficient, reliable, scalable and high-performance code. You will collaborate withvarious internal and external professionals and other cross functional team membersto produce high quality end products that exceed the expectations of our clients.

Skills and attributes for success

·  Demonstrate technical capabilities in observer pattern and event driven architecture, design and implementation
·  Experience in the latest tools, technologies and integration layer component development skillset, especially with open source toolsets
·  Ability to analyze a problem from the Product compatibility perspective and create appropriate designs
·  Ability to write bug free reliable code with automatable unit tests
·  Interface effectively with Clients and third-party entities to define and gain alignment on solution approach

The ideal candidate will have

Required:

·  3+ years of development experience with Java 8
·  Experience with REST-based API, REST and SOAP Webservices.
·  Experience with build and deploy applications such as Git and Maven.
·  Experience with authentication and authorization with Identity and Access Management, JWT (JSON Web Tokens) and authentication framework
·  Strong understanding and experience with Oracle database and SQL

Desired:

·  3+ years of hands-on FINEOS product experience
·  Cloud experience (such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud)
·  PL SQL knowledge (such as: views, procedures and triggers)
·  Experience with containers (such as: Docker Desktop)
·  Experience with Mocking frameworks (such as: Mockito)
·  Experience with front end development technologies (such as: ReactJs)
·  Insurance industry experience (preferably life & annuities, group benefits, individual life, or retirement services) OR Financial Services experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

·  Experience working with globally distributed / offshore and nearshore teams
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills
·  Willingness to travel 80% to meet client needs
